TCEPSER

“Jamal, please show some respect to your brother if you want to get respected” This is what my mom tells me whenever I yell at my little brother.

Respect has different meaning for some people, but to me respect is the way you treat others and based on you behavior toward them, how they treat you back. Respect can be shown through feeling and most importantly it can also shown through behavior. For instance, you must understand others feelings, thoughts, ideas and needs in order to show respect for them and you expect the same thing from those you have shown respect for.

Respect is something that is earned from others by doing something that they like, such as taking the person feelings, needs and thoughts into consideration. It can be shown in two different ways. First, you respect yourself before respecting others. What I mean by that is, when you do something or act in away show that you are someone who respect yourself then people will respect you. For example, if you are someone who always talks trash or use offensive words everywhere you go, it’s really hard to get respected by others because they know what kind person you are. In order to show that you respect yourself, you need to fulfill their needs. As they say, “you get what you give” which is true in this situation. Disrespecting is a backfire, because it comes back to a person based on his/her actions or behaviors.

For instance, my little brother some times takes my pencil without my permission and I get mad at him. I even yell at him and most of the time I don’t give my pencil when he asks me. So, he does the same thing to me when I ask him for a pencil and when I ask him why, he tells me that, I did the same thing to him before. This would have not happened to me, if I didn’t yell at him and gave him a pencil when he asked. Because of the behavior and respect that I have showed to him, he responded back with the same thing. This is why disrespecting is a backfire, because it hits others and comes back to you.

Respect is the way of living with those who are around you. In order to have nice neighborhood, you need to show that you are a nice neighbor. Respect is not what you say to your neighbor, but it’s what you do to show them that you have respect for them. For instance, good neighbors call each other and have dinner or lunch together which shows that both of them have good respect for one another. Doing this brings the feelings of both neighbors together because when there is a good feeling about each other, the behavior will normally follow.

Respect cannot be requested or forced, because it is something that a person gains from others. It can be taught though. Nobody knows how to respect someone else or their elders when they are young because they have no concept of respect .We all are directed and taught to respect others from the day we were born until the day we learned how to respect. Once we learned how to respect others, we know who to respect and why we respect that person. We begin to express our own views and preferences. Parents being their children best teachers will help their kids to grow up to be the kind person he/she raised up to be. Of course there are no better teachers than parents for their children, because they grow up to be where they are expected based on the education they received from parents. They have to perform in a way that shows their children which path they should take, such as doing something good in front of them or always using nice word when they speak or saying good things about others. These are all very important and good aspect of nurturing their children.

Again respect has different meaning for some people. Respect is like a magnet, because it connects different people together from different worlds. It’s because of the word respect that we go to another world to make friends. It’s because of the word respect that we live with domestic animals, such as dog, cat, etc. and we treat them well or care about them. Otherwise we would just kill them. Respect is not just the meaning of itself, but instead it’s the meaning of the world we live on and the meaning of the nature.

The rants

1) The baseball example gives the meaning of the word rant, because there is some speeches and talking that people are complain about something. It show that how people are doing what word rant exactly refer to in this case.

Happy??

I think happy means is to be able to live healthy, have what you want and do something that makes you happy all the time. Even if something that you want didn’t go the way you wanted, but you stay happy instead of getting sad, because you happy with the result. That’s what happy means.

Stop me

She start out telling us how her grandmother tells her story and she knows exact the story that she is going to tell her.

1) Standing on top of the hill and watching the hurricane swallow the detritus things on the village. It’s very breathtaking to see something that moves without bones and do amazing things to demolish worthless object in the village.

2) Teacher stand in front of the class giving speech to the class without stopping. Everyone in the class waited and waited to see if his going to stop. About half way through the class, everyone started taking a nap and by the time he finish the speech the whole class was taking a nap. what a boring class and teacher.

3) I was driving so fast because I have to get home before dinner start. If don’t home before dinner time, my mom would not give me a dinner. I was ten minute away when I saw this man standing in my way. Before I knew, the guy was on the ground. I the only thing the I was thinking at that moment was about my mom not giving me a dinner.

tomorrow will be a better day

Well, it’s easy to follow his story because every paragraph he writes captures readers attention. Telling little bit about himself with the beginning. He compares the generation that his relatives were in or been through and believing that his generation could be different.

He emphasize that every generation is different, because when he talks about how is grandparents were different generation from his.

I like this essay because she has a lot of details in the essay and it’s very long essay too. I like how she described things that she saw through her life. She definitely has many things to say about her life and how that shaped who she is today. She is very descriptive too. When she describe everything she seen and had happened to her, that’s very impressive.

My experience with writing is that, I like writing when I have to write short essays, because it’s easy for me to write them. But what I don’t like about writing is that, when I have to write big essays I get lost in the middle of writing and I don’t know how to put things in order.

Well, I was asked to write autobiography letter when I was sophomore. It sounded very simple essay about me and I was thinking that it’s very easy to write about me, because I already know everything about me and I know what am going to say. Obviously I know what to say about me in the essay, but I had so many things to say in the essay that made to get lost and didn’t know how to end it. Even though I did finished it, I made so many revision and rewriting some of the stuff. This is why I like writing short essays.

One of the biggest writing that I have done independently was the history day project. For my history day project I wrote essay and it was the longest essay that I ever wrote.

I do imagine that writing is a required part of the traditional academic skill set, because it another way to communicate and understand others rather than talking to one another in person. Teachers should teach students how to get better at writing essays, so that the students will get better at writing.
